Selangor FC have officially announced that Hugo Adnan Boumous, playing attacking midfielder, has joined the Red Giants family during the second transfer window of the 2025/26 season.

Born in Rennes, France, began his career with Stade Laval B, making 51 appearances and scoring 11 goals before being promoted to the Stade Lavallois senior squad. There, he featured in Ligue 2 and the Coupe de France, making three appearances and scoring two goals. He later moved to Morocco to join Moghreb Tétouan, where he recorded 31 appearances and provided four assists.

Hugo first rose to prominence in the Indian Super League (ISL) through his outstanding performances with several clubs. He was crowned the league’s best player after winning the ISL Golden Ball for the 2019/2020 season, having recorded 47 appearances, 20 goals and 19 assists with FC Goa. He then joined Mumbai City FC, contributing six goals and ten assists in 16 matches. He went on to continue his success with Mohun Bagan SG, making 70 appearances, scoring 14 goals and providing 19 assists, while helping the club secure several domestic titles, including two ISL League Shields, two ISL Playoff Championships, the Durand Cup and the Super Cup.

The following year, Hugo joined Odisha FC and continued to play a key role as the team’s attacking architect, scoring six goals and registering seven assists in 22 matches. From FC Goa to Odisha FC, he maintained his reputation as a creative and influential playmaker in the Indian Super League.

Overall, according to transfermarkt.com, Hugo has recorded 240 appearances, 56 goals and 58 assists throughout his professional career. In addition, his ability to control the tempo of the game, create chances and make the right decisions in crucial moments makes him a player who is expected to strengthen the Red Giants’ midfield.
